Advices to export figures and objects of some major 3D-packages to ACTION MODEL:
1) Lightwave 3D to ACTION MODEL:
To export objects or figures from Lightwave to ACTION MODEL, please use the free DX-Exporter from DStorm.

You can use FK and IK setups. FK animations you can export directly with the DX exporter. The X-Format allows only 4 different weightmaps per vertice. To use IK animations, please use the follower plug-in. It is important to bake the IK to key. The DX exporter has a function, but it is easier to set a keyframe for all items by hand for every key, if the animation is not too long. Then you can put off the baking function at the animation menu of the plug-in. It is also important to export scenes from 0 to x. If you only want to export a part of an animation, shift this part to 0 and the last keyframe to x. You can control the animation in the graph editor, if you have any problems at the first or the last frame, copy the 0 frame to -1 and the last frame (x) to x+1. If this is not enough, you can correct some splines by hand. Sometimes there are two values at a single keyframe (after keyframing by hand). Then you can put the values close together using the move function in the graph editor.
There ist also a collada exporter available for Lightwave, but at this time the exporter do not support animation data.
